In today’s modern healthcare delivery system, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are an increasingly prevalent type of healthcare facility. Due to the specialized and outpatient nature of ASCs, often times ASCs face credentialing challenges different than those of general acute care hospitals. Identifying these challenges can help to identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of ASC credentialing procedures. This session will provide an overview of the credentialing challenges facing ACSs and practical suggestions for improving credentialing procedures.
